TRIP TO RUSH LAKE

TRIP TO RUSH LAKE

(The Highest Alpine Lake of Pakistan

   SPONSORED BY HBL

In July this year 2017, HBL (HABIB BANK LIMITED) being a conscientious corporate citizen has sponsored a hiking and trekking expedition to RUSH LAKE the highest alpine lake of Pakistan (16000 feet).

The aims and objective of this expedition are to highlight the wonderful places which we have in Pakistan as many people still have not visited these areas because of the non availability of good organized group tours and a local guide.

My initial reconnaissance as a group leader has shown that the road conditions up to HUNZA in the HUNZA valley are very good and one can go on an ordinary vehicle up to Nagar to Hoper but in the side valley’s up to the trail head we need a good 4 x 4 vehicle  (off road).

The detailed itinerary of the expedition had already been given before but due to excessive landslides, rains and EID rush in that area the dates were subject to changes many times and slight modifications.

Hence the trip will be under taken from 07th to 17th July 2017.

    RUSH LAKE TRIP

Hunza valley is located in the northern areas of Pakistan. This valley is one of the most beautiful places in the world and is a good tourist attraction, where tourists really enjoy their time and interact with mother nature.

This is a mountainous valley, it gives spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains like Ultar Sar, Rakaposhi, Bojahagur Duanasir II, Ghenta Peak, Hunza Peak, Passu Peak, Diran Peak and Bublimotin (Ladyfinger Peak), all 6,000 metres (19,685 ft) or higher.

The Trek to Rusch Lake provides spectacular view of Rush Pari Peak-5098m, Miar Peak-6824m, Golden/Spantik-7027m, Ultar Peak-7388m, Malubiting Peak-7458m and the glaciers Miar glacier, Hopper glacier and much more.

Rush Lake trek is a rather a steep trek but well rewarding in the heart of the Hunza valley Pakistan. This trek will take you to the amazing Karakorum Mountains clusters the best on earth. You will be crossing glaciers, meadows and terraced fields of Karakoram. The trek ends at Rush Lake. (5,098 m 16,726 ft):

This is a long trek you will start by driving by Jeep across the Hunza River at Hoper. This is where the snout of the famous Barpu glacier meets another glacier called Bualter. Hunzakuts (local people from Hunza) believe that glaciers are either male or female. Each glacier exudes its own gender qualities and when a male and female glacier meet they give birth to a baby glacier!

DETERMINATION

Remember this is a chance to see Mother Nature at its best and those areas of Pakistan where less than 10 % of the population of Pakistan has gone.

So be determined and make a resolve to complete this trip as a challenge for the outdoors.

Many people were invited to come and join the expedition subject to their physical fitness and willingness to be a happy member and part of the HBL team.

Now as I look forward to my over 50 years of experience as a Mountaineer, trekker and ecologist and having traveled to all the nook and corners of Pakistan there were still two adventurous treks which have eluded me in my career.

And now I am excited that I am going to Rush Lake & in October I will go Astola Island which I hope to complete ASP before I become too old to trek and climb mountains.

FOR THOSE WHO DARE LIFE HAS A CHALLENGE WHICH THE SHELTERED NEVER ENJOY.

I am thankful to Mr. Nauman K Dar President HBL, Mr. Raymond Kotwal CFO HBL, both of whom are my fast friends and my special thanks to Mr. Sohaib Shahid Head of Branding and Activation HBL for their help and cooperation in planning for this trip and for their kind sponsorship.

APPEAL FOR DONATIONS / ZAKAT

      APPEAL FOR DONATIONS / ZAKAT

DEAR FRIENDS / WELL WISHERS AND DONORS

AOA,

The Holy month of Ramzan is now only five weeks away as it starts from 16 / 17 of May 2018.

Keeping up our past tradition this year again we at RAZA CHARITY TRUST are arranging AFTARI for more than 200 people in the mosque on daily basis and also arranging RATIONS for 1500 individuals who are poor and needy.

Every year the poor and needy are hit by inflation and price hike and edible items of daily use are now beyond the reach of the common man and for this purpose we are also arranging Rations items for the needy.

An Appeal to all Humanitarian and philanthropic organizations, individuals and volunteers to come forward and help us in this noble cause...

Last year we started an enrollment plan for potential recipient of Zakat by making RATION CARDS and making a data backup of their details so that the old and infirm do not suffer by standing in the Sun and adverse hot weather conditions which falls in the month of May / June 2018.

The registration of the Zakat Recipients in the form of Ration Cards has been met with great success and we will start giving Rations to the registered Cases from 20th of April 2018.

This has been done because in the scorching heat of May / June it is difficult to provide shade to the throng of fasting people who rush at our charity headquarters and secondly my own physical faculties are not what they used to be about a decade back. This also goes for my workers and helpers.

No doubt there are many charities and trusts who are already working in this sector but RAZA CHARITY TRUST is a down to earth hands on organization in which no honorarium is paid to any trustee / Volunteer  for his input and efforts.

As said by RABINDAR NATH TAGORE the first Nobel laureate of South East Asia that one Candle lights another candle and in this way a thousand candles can be lit and in turn the world can be lit.

Let the flame of hope be kept alive by your generous donations and contributions,

So that the poor and needy people are able to celebrate their RAMZAN / EID with no tears in their eyes.

Please send your donations / contributions / zakat in the form of cash & cheque to Raza

Charity Trust.

STORY OF HOPE

STORY OF HOPE

Babur Hammeed Bhatti R/o D-278 Chaklala Road, Rehmatabad, Rawalpindi NIC No. 37405-0437741-5, A rickshaw driver by profession 55 years of age in a state of frail and decrepitude health further exacerbated by weakness and heart problems.

About one month ago his rickshaw became Faulty and because of his poor health he could not earn his daily bread and was hand to mouth living on Chutni and roti for the past three weeks.

He is living in a rented house and was unable to pay his electricity bill for the past two months and his Landlord threatened him with ejection notice if he failed to clear the electricity bill.

On 21st February after hearing about RAZA CHARITY TRUST came to my clinic at Market Road sadder and waited for more than 02 hours to see me as I was out of office.

At 8.00 pm he started wailing and crying that 22nd February is the last date for deposit of Electricity bill and he had come to us with high hopes.

My staff gave him tea and snacks as he had not eaten since morning and was in a bad condition and state of mind.

I saw him at about 9 O Clock and took the electricity bill from him and told him to go home without asking him any questions or verifications.

Next day on 22nd evening he came to collect the paid electricity bill and narrated his story to my staff that how he was so desperate and against the wall because of financial problems as he has three grown up daughters who are to be married.

His electricity bill has been paid by Raza Charity Trust but he is desperately indeed of help as he wants to repair his Ricksaw and start earning his livelihood.

There are many cases like this which are in need of your help.

Do come forward and join us in our crusade against ignorance, poverty, disease and hunger.

Keep the candle of hope burning by your donations / contributions.

KEEP THE FLAME OF HOPE ALIVE (OUTREACH ACTIVITY)

KEEP THE FLAME OF HOPE ALIVE

(OUTREACH ACTIVITY)

This month our field investigators comprising of Shabana Shameem and Nadira bibi along with our drivers and fieldworkers took a long journey all the way to Angoori road, mile stone 17 and descended to Dhoke Dhumma to provide Rations to one widow and her children whose husband had died recently.

It was quite an ordeal for the ladies to hike down to Dhoke Dhumma which is about 1.5 km trek from the main road and the rations were carried by my guard Waheed Satti and handyman Riaz Hussain along with the driver who were helpful in carrying the excessive load of luggage over a mountainous track with many ups and downs.

When we do something good, we feel an unknown sense of happiness in our hearts. Whether we do it for a good cause for others it gives us relaxation and satisfaction which hugs the heart.

The assignment was given to Shabana Shameem and Nadra Bibi to go to a poor widow who lives in mountainous area of Angoori and check out her status of living.

When they visited the lady widow’s house they really felt their hearts weeping as they saw how miserable life she was living in. She had three minor children. The children were without shoes and proper clothing in this extreme cold weather of December. There was little food with them that was not enough for this family for even one meal. They felt that we must do something for this family, immediately.

Under the guidance of Raza Charity Trust they arranged Rations for the poor lady and Mr. Shameem and his wife Shabana Shameem arranged flour, sugar, ghee, milk, daal, soaps, vegetables, fruit, other edibles, carpet, clothing’s, shoes, toys, school bags, pencils to the deserving family.

As Mr.& Mrs. Shameem went to the bazaar to buy clothes for the family when they were buying small socks and shoes for the children and the clothes for the widow lady, they felt really excited and contented. They said that they often go for the shopping for their children but they don’t feel that much contented and excited as when they were buying clothes for this poor family.

Mr.& Mrs. Sham also collected other things that they could spare for this family they felt that they were doing a good deed which in turn made them happy.

On December 17th, Mr. & Mrs. Shameem along with Nadra bibi  went to deliver these things to the widow lady and  when they reached there, she was really very excited to see that we have come to help her. When she saw the things that we gave her, she started weeping. She made several duas for the whole team and for the Donors of RAZA CHARITY TRUST.

According to Shabana Shameem “This was the moment that I felt that yes, this should be our actual motive of life. We should help others who are poor and needy. This is what Islam teaches us and it gives us peace and happiness to our hearts. By doing so, we get out of depressions. We get the real meaning and purpose of our existence in this world”.

The aim of Raza Charity Trust is to serve the people who need our help and attention. There is no medicine in the world better than this that could make us active, healthier and happy as quoted by Shabana Shameem.

Now many of you will read my post, some of you will never give it a second thought, many of you will just forget about it and some will delete it but those of you who are GOD fearing and are conscientious citizens will share this post and also donate to our future projects of which many of them are in the pipe line to help the needy and poor.

KEEPING THE FLAME OF HOPE ALIVE (Maryam Kamran)

KEEPING THE FLAME OF HOPE ALIVE

We at Raza Charity Trust feel humble, honored and grateful to almighty ALLAH for choosing us for this noble cause to help the poor and needy children for their educational / schooling fees.

Our reputation as a charitable institution is catching on and this week we had Maryam Kamran W/o Ch. Mohammad Kamran (Late) NIC No. 37405 –8992160 – 8, R/O House No. NE- 768, St No. 3, Mohallah Dhoke Farman Ali Rawalpindi, who came to us for similar help as she was unable to continue the schooling of her two children.

Keeping our strict S.O.P we had this case investigated and our field staff Raheel made a personal visit by going all the way to Dare – Arqam School Tipu Road Campus & Waqar un Nisa Girls School Rawalpindi to verify the bona-fides and antecedents of the children.

On investigation it was revealed that two children have not attended school for the past 01 week because their school fees had not been paid.

Raheel interacted with the school management and gave the following report:

Fatima Chuadhry                 Class 4th        Rs.      1830/- Pending

Ch. Abdul Rehman             Class One     Rs.      2500/- Pending

We again contacted the school management for further disposal of the case and I personally went to the banks to have the school fee challan deposited.

The children have resumed schooling and we have asked the school authorities to keep us informed about their academic progress.

The relevant paid fee cards pics and supporting documents are also attached with this post.

This family has been helped because of generous donations and contributions from people like you but there are so many other families who are waiting for your help and cooperation.

It is better to give a bag of Atta and sugar to needy families sponsor the education of a child rather than to waste your money in expensive clothing, hotel ling and ostentatious display of wealth.

Do come forward to sponsor the education of at-least one child which is not more than Rs.3000/- month.

Real happiness lies in caring, sharing and helping others.

Looking forward to your magnanimous and philanthropic contributions.

Thank you my friends for making this noble effort possible.

GOD BLESS U,

Best Regards,
